A carbon fiber reinforced nylon 6 that is very stiff, strong, and heat tolerant when dry. It is hygroscopic: absorbed moisture softens the matrix and lowers its stiffness and strength, so its behavior depends on the humidity it works in. It resists oils, greases, and fuels but is weakened by strong acids and prolonged hot water.
